This is a lovely post to read. I like laying a particular cloth for the occasion - though it really depends on who’s coming for dinner, if it’s a tea party or Christmas or we’re having a picnic. I don’t have a garden so I love picking fresh herbs from my families garden 🪴
Ahh yes we tend to make an extra effort for dinner guests and Christmas, but we are worthy even when it's just us, on any given day. Thank you so much for your lovely comment. xx 💫
A beautiful read Bron, thank you so much. I love the rituals of food, both preparation and eating. We always eat at the table, even if I’m on my own I do. Cooking is so nourishing, the mindfulness that it needs is a lovely way to slow the day and be present.
Thank you so much Katherine. 🥰We always eat at the table too. It's extremely important to me that we do, we need to work on keeping our phones put away sometimes however! Being mindful about our food and cooking very makes me appreciate it all the more, I think that goes with most good things though, flowers, nature, art... Thank you again for your beautiful comment and sharing. xx
Just reading this felt so nourishing! I do like to make an offering to the ancestors from my meals, but otherwise I have a tendency to rush through it all. This all felt like a wonderful call to slow down and really be present with the magic of our food. 💖
Thank you Jenna, I love your acknowledgement to your ancestors, it's not something I have often thought to do myself. But definitely a connection I would like to improve on. Thanks so much! xx
I love the idea of creating rituals for food, it can do often be a case of feeding for fuel in our house and snacking too much in not such great stuff. Funnily enough we’ve had radish in our salads lately that have been a lovely addition.
Thank you Louise, it really is very easy to grab for things that aren't perhaps the best for us sometimes, with the hustle and bustle of family. I find it's especially difficult to slow down and make the effort in the heat of Summer too. Thanks again so much for your restack and share. xx
