Every Sunday evening I post “Hygge Highlights” a roundup of little shared moments that felt good, memorable, comforting or magical in some way during our week.
If you follow me on Instagram or through the Notes here on Substack you will know I asked for an extra special dose of hygge for this my birthday weekend.
Many of you wished me a “Happy Birthday!” - I’m delighted to report I indeed had a fantastic day with my family, foraging for blossoms and a tailgating picnic of homemade treats on a glorious sun shiny, warm day. What more could a Leo ask for?! I was thoroughly spoilt from near and far with a stunning array of beautiful gifts too!!
Thank you all so very much for your warm wishes! xx
Here are your hygge…
“Sitting with my son watching Encounters at the End of the World - strange to think that a doco about Antarctica would make me feel cosy and magical, but it fills me full of appreciation for this amazingly beautiful world and the clever passionate interesting people who study it 🌏 there’s a closeup of a wooden balustrade outside one of the huts where someone has carved “I sink into bliss” and that is going to be my motto for the moment 🌱” / “Coming home after a trip” / “Reconnecting with an old friend and sitting in the sunshine with my hands clasped around a cup of hot black tea” / “Cozied in bed this morning drinking coffee with my husband and two purring cats keeping me company.” / “Snuggling my furry companions on a two-dog night!” / “I just had a lovely walk after the rain and everywhere was glistening from the rain drops. Magical”
“I sink into bliss” is such a brilliant descriptor for the feeling of hygge.
This week I’ve truly sunk into magnolia bliss. I’ve always admired them, been tickled with their fluffy willow like outer case before they burst into flower. Especially the bigger, later ones, but I’m not sure I’ve appreciated the smaller ones quite as much as I have in the past few days.
If you enjoyed receiving this week’s "Hygge Highlights" please do consider joining us with your own magical moments by leaving a comment below. Restacking or sharing the post with others helps endlessly in growing our hygge community and inspiring more everyday joy. I’m always delighted to hear from you and your seasonal observations, the cosy things you’ve felt, seen or tasted.
Seasons Blessings 💫

This is wonderful, thank you! I did have a moment of sinking into bliss yesterday. I was on a kayaking trip with some friends. We had stopped for a bio break and I felt drawn to walk out into the middle of the river. The water is quite shallow and warm this time of year. I wanted to be fully in it, so I sort of let go and just let myself sink into. I felt held and supported by the river. It was bliss indeed! (Not sure it was exactly cozy, but blissful nonetheless.) 🤗♥️
Happy belated birthday 🎂 I hope you had a lovely day and week 🎉🌸
