Hello again and Happy October; aka the “Sexy Season” Downunder. Phew!! The season of light, colour, warmth and fun is upon us. A truly beautiful, hopeful and fertile time of the year. I hope you’ve all had a brilliant week, have recovered from losing the hour last weekend to gain more light into the evenings. Also I’d like to extend a warm welcome Leo hug to my new subscribers this week. I’m feeling blessed and very grateful you are here.
I’ve been mulling over something I saw and read, shared by a couple of people on Instagram this week.
Somehow instead of saying “as a treat”, I’ve started using the phrase “for morale”, as if my body if a ship and it’s crew, and I (the captain) have to keep it in high spirits, lest we suffer a mutiny in the coming days.
And so I will eat this small block of fancy cheese, for morale. I will take a break and drink some tea, for morale. I will pick up that weird bug, for morale.
I’m not sure if it helps, but it does entertain me.
The comments were equally thought provoking, as they often are. Several people said they had read the quote “as a threat”; others remarked how “a treat” infers a reward which we must first earn; another agreed it was all about “reframing.”
Our language, affirmations and self talk are so extremely powerful. From what we read, write and share through the various mediums, to the tapes we replay in our heads and to ourselves on the daily. They all have massive impacts on our mental, physical and spiritual health.
I’m delighted to welcome “For Morale” to the hygge family, I think they will fit in well. In fact we’ve already starting toasting them, in place of absent friends. I adore how “For Morale” is encouraging of the many things I personally hold dear. Collecting treasures for morale and my seasonal altar, foraging edible blooms and greens for morale and our sustenance, continuing listening to the remainder of the song on reaching our destination for morale, taking a few minutes longer in the shower for morale.
I believe For Morale is not just about ingesting things, but enjoying tangible moments. For Morale prefers reading and cuddling up with books to reading digitally on a phone or tablet. They love handcrafts, hand sewing, knitting and encourages you to finish a few more rows to reconnect with your inner self, rhythm, regulate your breath and nervous system. For Morale encourages you to unplug and take the scenic route.
Will you welcome “For Morale” aboard? How will they keep you in high spirits, high on hygge? I would love you hear your thoughts!

(Hygge = “hoo-gah” from Danish, meaning “the essence of what is good.”)
And now over to you…
Yesterday in my city garden I heard a sound of a bird that is one I know from being in native bush, it’s song connects me to places away from city life. I’ve never heard it here before, and I wish I could be sure what type of bird it is. Perhaps a tūī but I’m not sure if that’s really possible where I live. It was magic to hear, I looked to find it but wasn’t able to spot it. It was a moment of magic. Xx
I really love that quote from your friend about the world being their altar. That resonates so much with me. And (this is veering off topic) I believe each of us is the living altar for our ancestors. So, altars everywhere! 😁 Also, that it is one of the most magnificent hag stones I've ever seen! Really marvelous!
As ever, thank you so much for sharing your moments and thoughts.
Seasons Blessings 💫

This is brilliant, Bron, thank you! "For morale" might just be my new mantra. ♥️♥️
